    The Austin Chamber of Commerce hosted a Joint 29th Ward and 37th Ward Town Hall Meeting on 5/24/2016 at the Austin Town Hall.  Both Alderman Mitts and Alderman Taliaferro agreed that this was a great idea to get more community feedback and buy-in for the proposed campus.  And for its vision of a revitalized Westside.

    We changed ourselves and our block became Green.  This Green-Block Starter Kit emerged from the process that we went through. 

    We hope to encourage many blocks to become Green and then for our Green Village to inspire other villages to become Green.

    Why sculpt the trees?

    Trees may be dying in Chicago at a quickening pace due to stress from changes in climate. Warmer temperatures, new insects, invasive species, and volatile weather are pervasive. These problems compound the difficulties trees already face in the harsh urban landscape!
