Happiness

I love this meal, my partner, my grandson, my father.... Kindness, compassion, affection.  The love of kinship, friendship, desire.  Divine love, a gift of God.  The theme of love in art, music, and literature.  Love brings us together against menaces and helps us survive.  And it is a mystery.

Happiness is living a good life.  Flourishing.  Intoxicating joy, amusement, satisfaction, gratification, euphoria, triumph.  Freedom from suffering and want.  Aristotle: happiness is the practice of virtue.
