BEAD IN HAND HAS BASKETS OF FUN FOR ART ON HARRISON
145 Harrison St., Oak Park, 708-848-1761
Friday and Saturday, September 19 and 20, Art on Harrison

Bead In Hand will be open 10 am to 10 pm Friday, September 19, and 10 am to 8 pm Saturday, September 20, for the Oak Park Art’s District’s annual fall celebration of art.

This year's event celebrates the woven BaskeTrees project by Karen Gubitz (and will include a walking tour with her on Saturday).  With this in mind, we're offering a choice of two "weaving" drop-in projects for all ages, and also a raffle for our wire-and-bead-woven basket of goodies.

Customers can weave their own wearable art and make either a Woven Wire Bead Ring or Braided Bead Bracelet for $5 per item during our Drop-In project times.  Both projects are suitable for fingers of all ages, though some help may be needed for those under eight.

Drop-In Project Times at Bead In Hand
Friday, September 19, 6:00-10:00pm
Saturday, September 20, 12:00-5:00pm

Anyone making a purchase from Saturday, September 13 through 6 pm on Saturday, September 20, can enter our raffle to win a unique wire-and-bead woven basket filled with goodies, including a $30 gift certificate to Bead In Hand.  The winning ticket will be drawn at 6:30 pm September 20.  Winner does not need to be present.  One entry per purchase.

The BaskeTrees project is a permanent yet evolving public art exhibition by artist Karen Gubitz sure to delight art and nature enthusiasts of all ages.  On Saturday at 1pm, join Karen Gubitz outside Gallery PINK (149 Harrison St.) for a walking tour and discussion of the project.
